Breast Care Center (Outside Photo)

The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Care Center at Stony Brook University Medical Center plays a leading role in providing services to the region. Stony Brook's breast care program — the only comprehensive academic program of its kind on Long Island — champions a multidisciplinary approach for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with breast conditions, including both benign and malignant disease.

The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Care Center is located in a state-of-the-art outpatient facility located on the Medical Center campus in Stony Brook. In addition to its many amenities, including valet parking, the Center is equipped with leading-edge technology and is staffed by specially trained healthcare professionals. Our breast surgeons, radiologists, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists are experienced experts, who provide patients with compassionate care using the most advanced treatment options available. Our patients also benefit from the extensive resources of a premier academic medical center. Stony Brook University Medical Center actively conducts research to discover causes of cancer, improve methods of prevention and early diagnosis and provide novel breast cancer treatment strategies.

The physicians and staff of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Care Center are committed to providing patients with high quality, patient-centered care. By working in a collaborative setting that fosters coordinated and leading-edge treatment approaches, we believe our patients benefit from the very latest in technology, while receiving compassionate and coordinated care.

Our weekly Treatment Planning Conference is a multidisciplinary forum where we review potential treatment options for patients with newly diagnosed cancer or patients with recurrent disease. At this conference, their individual cases are presented to a team of highly trained cancer specialists, including radiologists, breast surgeons, pathologists, reconstructive surgeons, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists.
