Dr. Mortensen-Welch provides the following rehabilitative services, surgeries, and procedures at 37 Research Way or at Stony Brook Medicine:
- Examining of the vibration of vocal cords with a special scope called Videostroboscope.
- Objective testing of the acoustic and aerodynamics of the speaking and singing voice with measures of: acoustic parameters, respiratory and phonatory airflow and electroglottography.
- Laryngeal electromyography: Tests of electric signals of muscle function of the larynx.
- Minimally invasive KTP laser treatment of polyps, scars and other benign and pre-malignant growths of the vocal fold.
