Epilepsy

Stony Brook University has been a leader in the care and support of people with epilepsy on Long Island for over fifteen years. At the Long Island Comprehensive Epilepsy Center a sound strategy of coordinated clinical care is provided. Our team members work closely together to ensure that each patient and family receives specialized attention. They provide compassionate care for patients of all ages with epilepsy and related disorders. Inpatient assessments are conducted in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for both adults and children.

Being a center for academic excellence and research, the Long Island Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is constantly working to improve the diagnosis and treatment of seizures. In addition to clinical trials of experimental treatments we are involved with basic laboratory studies as well as some of the world's most advanced neuroimaging diagnostics through collaboration with Brookhaven National Laboratory.
