Occupational, Enviromental and Clinical Preventive Medicine
The division was originally created in 1986 to establish clinical services to address the occupational and environmental health needs of the LI community. Its focus has been on the prevention of occupational illness and injury through early identification of occupational health risks, working with workplaces to institute preventive changes, and early, appropriate treatment for the injured worker. The Division has continued to expand and now includes clinical preventive medicine services such as immunizations, travel medicine services, cancer screening, wellness and management of chronic illness services which includes integrative medicine and mind/body techniques.
