Required Qualifications

Billing Support Specialist - Stony Brook Surgical Associates, UFPC

Work Location – Stony Brook, NY

Schedule – Full Time

Days & Hours – Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

  • Using EMR, review charts and send messages to physicians providing specific information required to complete chart.
  • Reconcile ED visits with completed coding and identify any unbilled visits using ED registration log.
  • Enter coding data into Patient Keeper billing interface.
  • Provide data to CPMP Patient Accounts as requested for patient inquiries.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Enter coding data into Patient Keeper billing interface.
  • Analyze, code and abstract information for the purpose of assigning and entering appropriate and consistent diagnoses and procedure codes for reimbursement.
  • Resolve discrepancies on coding related issues.
  • Maintain PK files for validity errors.
  • Monitor TES Open Encounter file.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Complete special department/physician projects.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Healthcare expreience

Description

Responsible for reviewing and analyzing physicians’ surgical documentation completion, and ensuring proper routing of the charge functions.  Coordinate work assigned to outsourcing vendors. Using industry guidelines and best practice standards, reviews vendors performance, handle relationships with vendors.
