Stony Brook Physicians and Health Care Experts to Speak at North Shore Jewish Center

STONY BROOK, NY, April 7, 2006ó On Sunday, April 30, from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, 12 of Stony Brook University Hospitalís best doctors and other health care experts will be on hand to offer insight and information at a free, family oriented Community Health Education Expo at the North Shore Jewish Center at 385 Old Town Road in Port Jefferson Station. Areas of physician discussion include skin cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, leukemia, lymphoma and bone marrow transplantation, prostate cancer, tobacco related cancers, heart health, childhood snoring and school performance, pediatric and adult sleep apnea, ADD/ADHD, weight loss and exercise, asthma, and more. Other health related issues available at the free Education Expo include information and consultation on Medicare Part D, information about pharmaceuticals, acupuncture, how to choose a nursing home, advance directives and healthcare proxy, options for living in the community for seniors, and much more. The Long Island Blood Service Bloodmobile will be accepting blood donations at the Expo from 11 am to 3 pm; the Fire Department will offer information on Fire Safety; the Police Athletic League will offer Ident-a-Kits and child safety information from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm.
