Overview
To use state-of-the-art methods to treat patients in a respectful, compassionate and effective manner; to educate healthcare professionals in the practice of radiation oncology; to pursue knowledge about the practice and science of radiation oncology and to develop innovative approaches in its application; and to serve as a regional resource for education about radiation oncology and the diseases it treats. In accomplishing these missions, the department supports Stony Brook Medicine's strategic objective to become the regional destination institution for cancer services in Suffolk County.
