Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing or New Media.

· Minimum of Two-Four years of full-time related experience.

· Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Mastery of Microsoft Excel. Word, Power Point skills.

· Expertise in multiple Social Media Platforms.

· Ability to create content for social media (text, image, video and brochure development).

· Ability to work independently prioritizing projects within timelines in an organized manner.


Description

SUMMARY: The Department Communications Specialist II is responsible for coordinating the social media, website design,community outreach, practice services promotion and all other marketing duties.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

· Assist with design, development, and maintenance of the websites for the Pediatrics department.

· Encompassing the clinical services, research, and education for the departments

· Responsible for working with Stony Brook Medicine to update public directories regarding clinical providers through YEXT network.

· Coordinate development and updates for all brochures of clinical services for Pediatrics.

· Execution of Social Media campaigns through social media platforms (i.e. Facebook,Twitter, and Instagram) coordinated with Stony Brook Medicine Communications to maintain a strong online presence.

· Oversee online reviews from patients, students, and the local community with the assistance of Stony Brook Medicine Communications.

· Utilize external advertising including but not limited to print.

· Coordinate a presence as needed at Community Health Fairs including providing promotional items, brochures, and staff.

· Coordinate sponsorship of professional association events and community organizations. Prepare all necessary accounting and marketing information associated with the sponsorships.

· Plans and coordinates small to large scale events and/or conferences. Includes setting up schedules, locations,speakers, food and room layout.

· Assist senior staff with compiling data and drafting reports for special projects.

· Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
