Required Qualifications
  • The candidate must have an Associate’s degree in Nursing. 
  • One (1) year post licensure nursing experience.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • Current registration to practice as a Licensed Registered Nurse in New York State.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Two years related experience in performing Allergy Testing.


SUMMARY: The Allergy Registered Nurse will perform the following duties under the direction of the Allergist:

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Administration of allergy injections, medications and immunizations.
  • Prepares allergy serums and maintenance of prior authorizations for the allergy clinic.
  • Provides specialty allergy skin scratch testing, intradermal skin testing and immunotherapy services.
  • Must safely perform all patient care responsibilities in accordance with professional standards and the organization’s policies and procedures. 
  • Explains procedure in easy-to-understand terms based on professional knowledge to relieve patient of pre-testing anxiety.
  • Sets-up equipment to administer the particular testing in a timely fashion. 
  • Must effectively determine and set priorities to meet patient needs. 
  • Provide proper and accurate documentation of patient care in the patient medical record. 
  • Ensures that patients receive timely and appropriate care. 
  • Maintains infection control precautions and identifies potential infection control problems.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance activities within the Department. 
  • Participates in annual recertification training, compliance training, and HIPAA training, as well as all other mandatory in-service programs. 
  • Conforms to policies and regulations governing patient rights and confidentiality of information.
  • Provide Patient education regarding devices such as epinephrine auto-injectors and metered dose inhalers. 
  • Assist in performing oral challenges with foods and medications. 
  • Administrative duties would include school forms, medication refills, and patient phone calls.
  • Using the EMR in an efficient manner. 
  • Maintain stock and inventory. 
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by management.

Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-8:00pm, variable as needed
