SB Clinical Practice Management Plan, Inc.

SB Clinical Practice Management Plan, Inc. (CPMP) was established at the Stony Brook University School of Medicine in the 1970s. Its formation and operation is required by the collective bargaining agreement between the State of New York and the United University Professions (UUP). UUP is the union that represents the faculty of the State University of New York. CPMP supports the eighteen clinical departments in the Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Each of these departments has a corresponding clinical practice entity through which patient care services are rendered and billed.

Over the past 30 years, CPMP programs and services have grown in response to the direction and needs of the practice entities. Some expanded services have been built on the core billing, collection and disbursement services performed by CPMP; others were intended to increase revenue, reduce cost or strengthen service delivery. Today, CPMP offers a wide range of programs and services designed to add value to the clinical faculty practices. CPMP also provides ongoing information to and coordinates a compliance program on behalf of the clinical practices.

Important Note:

The Stony Brook Medicine University Physicians website is primarily an informational and educational resource. It should not be used in place of medical advice and recommendations you receive from your health care provider. If you have, or suspect that you have a medical problem or condition, please seek the advice of your health care provider.

Stony Brook Medicine University Physicians provides marketing advice and consultation to the clinical Faculty associated with the University Faculty Practice Corporations (UFPCs). It does not provide medical care directly or indirectly nor does it oversee, direct, manage or supervise the medical care provided by any of the individual Practices. The individual Practices are responsible for the medical care each Practice provides to its patients. Please note that the Practices listed below are separate University Faculty Practice Corporations (UFPCs).
