The Division of Hematology/Oncology at Stony Brook University Medical Center is an academically-oriented program that is committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive care for children, adolescents and young adults with cancer and hematological diseases.
Care is provided in a multi-disciplinary team setting utilizing the talents of physicians, specialized nurses and nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, and child life specialists. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Service works closely with physicians and staff in Radiation Oncology, Pediatric Surgery, and other pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive care for these children.
Their mission is to advance their understanding of diseases through basic and clinical research and educating future health care providers and leaders.
